Quality, purity and sophistication in our products
The Hifas Quality System is Hifas da Terra’s own quality system. It brings together the technologies developed by our R&D department and the requirements of our quality department.
Its aim is to ensure the quality and traceability of our products.
360º TRACEABILITY
Consistent, controlled production from cultivation to the finished product, following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
TRIPLE ANALYTICAL CHECK
Purity controls, concentration of active biomolecules and confirmation of the stability of the final product. This includes microbiological, pesticide, heavy metals and gluten analysis.
Extract fingerprint: advanced analytical techniques produce a fingerprint of each extract, which confirms that it is what it says it is.
Product analysis
Organic product testing: each production batch and each finished product is tested for pesticides and heavy metals by external laboratories (Eurofins and CRAEGA).
Microbiological testing and stability testing: the finished product is tested under set temperature and humidity conditions to check the stability of the formulation.
Standardisation of characteristic compounds: our labels state the amount of characteristic compounds (such as beta-glucans and triterpenes), measured by analytical methods and checked through external audits.
Identity (extract fingerprints): advanced analytical techniques confirm that each extract is what it says it is.
SELECTION OF STRAINS
Hifas da Terra has its own collection of mushroom strains, which allows us to select the most suitable strain for each product.
We select our partners based on the strict criteria of excellence and traceability established by Hifas Quality System (HQS).
Hifas Green Extraction (HGE)
Our own collection of native mushroom strains, isolated by our R&D team. It holds more than 200 strains; some are deposited and protected by intellectual property rights and others are in the patent process.
R&D: isolating new strains. We keep expanding the HMB (Hifas Mycological Bank) with new strains.
GREATER CONCENTRATION OF ACTIVE BIOMOLECULES
We use state-of-the-art technologies (patent pending) to improve extraction yield. We also reduce waste by turning by-products into new uses in animal feed and agriculture.
Hifas Green Extraction (HGE)
Our own extraction system, designed to obtain extracts with a higher concentration of characteristic compounds. It is also a sustainable extraction process.
When choosing a mushroom supplement, look for certified organic production, testing for pesticides and heavy metals, and a label that states the amount of characteristic compounds.
A study found that most of the Reishi supplements analysed did not contain the amount stated on the label
A 2017 study carried out in the United States and published in Scientific Reports found that only 5 of the 19 Reishi products analysed contained the amount of Reishi stated on the label.
